Matig nieuws voor bezitters van een licentie: sinds versie 9 van VAG-COM zijn de labelfiles niet meer in 'kale ascii', maar zijn versleuteld.
Dit is gedaan omdat concurenten de info uit deze files gebruikten voor eigen (concurerende) doeleinden. Je kunt deze files dus niet meer voor eigen doeleinden aanpassen (vertalen), helaas.

The past years have shown us that a lot of competitors are using our information to support their customers. We even have seen cases where they send their customers to our WIKI and website instead of investing the time to improve their own diagnostic tools and support.
This week we had a case where a quite popular scan tool showed the text 'Please E-Mail Ross-Tech' instead of actually displaying information on a problem/fault code. This was only one out of many examples which proofed that this manufacturer had copied a lot of information directly
from VCDS.
Now to answer your actual question, we are encrypting label files as well as other data to prevent them to be used by competitors. VCDS will still show the information while working on the car, so there is no or only minor limitation to our customers while using our product. I hope this helps you understanding why we have done this, we are not happy about these steps and would rather still have all information available to the public but sadly we were forced to do this.
